Zorbing

Like the idea of rolling down steep hills whilst picking up speeds of up to 30mph? Zorbing experiences (also known as sphereing) are fast becoming one of the most popular and crazy activities in the country. Normally these events are available for two people so choose a friend and enjoy it even more as you both scream into each other’s ears as you bounce around on your journey downhill! We recommend not eating anything just before you climb into the inflatable sphere, and are careful not to stand up too quickly when you reach the bottom as dizziness might take over! Zorbing or sphereing is very straightforward. You turn up, have a quick safety briefing, climb into your giant zorb or sphere (or if you prefer, ball!), you are then strapped into the harness and pushed to the summit of the slope before allowing gravity to take over as you roll down and gradually pick up speeds. The once at the bottom somebody will let you out whilst you do your best not to fall over, simple!

Is there a difference between harness sphereing and aqua zorbing you might ask? Only being that aqua zorbing involves the zorb containing up to thirty litres of water (as you might have guessed), thus making sure you get very wet on the way down!

As zorbing becomes more popular throughout the UK, you should be able to find a venue reasonably close to your location.

PLEASE NOTE: Each sphere normally accommodates two people per roll, therefore unless you have purchased a ‘for two’ option, another person will be present with you inside the sphere.

Duration

You will normally enjoy one roll down the hill, which can last from a few seconds up to a minute. Please allow up to an hour at the venue, as you will have to wait your turn and watch others from a designated area.

Are spectators welcome

Spectators are always welcome to watch. All venues provide toilet facilities and some have catering facilities.

Are these experiences weather dependent?

Zorbing does depend on the weather; however, the activities tend not to run throughout winter. If conditions are bad, such as heavy rain or high winds then your experience may be cancelled. When in doubt please contact your chosen venue prior to leaving.

Other information

Minimum age requirements apply and are normally twelve years old, although at some venues it can be younger. Maximum age requirement is normally sixty years. Maximum weight requirements may also apply, normally being eighteen stone. Please check the product details provided or read more information at the retailer. You must be in reasonable fit condition to enjoy zorbing. You will not be able to participate if:

you are pregnant

you suffer heart conditions

you have high blood pressure

you suffer from epilepsy

you suffer neck or back problems

you are under the influence of alcohol
