It would be very surprising if you have no idea what paintballing involves, as it has been in existence since the beginning of the 1980’s and is now a very popular extreme sport all over the world yet alone in the UK.
Normally involving team or individually competing games, the aim is to shoot and eliminate opponents from the game with balls containing a water-soluble dye held in a gelatine case. Usually the games are played on large purpose built fields or within wooden areas with many obstacles, bunkers and places to hide being present and hence providing cover from the opposing teams and players.
A paintballing day will normally consist of various different games requiring different strategies to be successful in beating the opponent. These can include popular versions such as ‘capture the flag’, ‘last man standing’ and locating hidden items within the playing arena.
All participants regardless of experience are required to wear protective clothing, masks and goggles provided at the location, along with other equipment such as guns and paintballs. A specific number of paintballs is normally included in the price however; there will be an option to purchase more on the day for those trigger-happy people out there!
There are plenty of paintballing options to choose from below, allowing you to participate on your own or with a friend against others, or group paintballing allowing you to test out your army skills against your own friends.
All activities include full protective clothing and hire of a semi-automatic paintball gun. Which you will be provided with following a short class safety brief, which will include discussing the type of games you will be involved in and the rules of each.
Next up will be a quick demonstration of how the weapons work then before you know it you will be running for your life in the designated ‘battle’ area.
Some of the activities require you to purchase your first set of paintballs when booking the activity, whereas others include your first set within the price shown. There will be time before your games begin and in between to purchase more if required (we are sure they will be!). On average most participants get through two hundred to four hundred paintballs a day.
There are plenty of locations throughout the UK to enjoy paintballing, hence finding one close to you should not be too much of a problem. Some of the below packages include lunch as well during the day, as do some venues. If not provided then most venues include catering facilities where you can buy your own, or you can normally take a packed lunch. Trust us; you will need plenty of energy for these activities!

“ This was one hell of a great experience, and quite a painful one at that! The masks were a bit uncomfortable and kept steaming up which was a bit annoying and the facilities were a bit basic but for the price you can’t complain at all. Great fun and would definitely do again, although might wear more padded clothing next time!
