Vineyard Tours and Wine Tasting ExperiencesMost of the adult population loves a glass of wine, be it white, red or rose; however, do they really know how to appreciate which wine is best to drink with which food? Would they enjoy tasting a wide variety of wines to discover what goes into them to make them taste so different? These vineyard tours or wine tasting experiences are a fantastic way to sample a selection of fine wines whilst teaching you about the wine making process to help you understand the different varieties of grapes that go into creating that unique flavour. They may already be a bit of a wine connoisseur, if so there are more advanced courses available. If not, then one of the many beginners and introductory courses will soon turn them into one!

With so many brands and flavours of wine available, there are many different tastes, and the more you understand about wine the more you notice and appreciate the subtle differences.

There are actually five stages when it comes to sampling wine and they can be referred to as the five S’s to help memorise (your first lesson!). They are see (colour), swirl, sip (taste), sniff (smell) and savour. You will learn how to tell if the wine is heavy or light by appearance and smell alone, as well as the overall quality and any imperfections the wine might have by its aroma, such as age oxidation of cork taint.

You can enjoy a wine tasting experience at numerous locations throughout the UK and in particular, London, with options to suit all budgets from basic tasting activities to overnight stays, packages with lunch included or more advanced courses. Alternatively, for a complete understanding of how wines created, why not enjoy a vineyard tour and watch the wine making process from the grape picking start to the bottling and labelling finish.
