Microlight Flying ExperiencesIf you know of someone who fancies taking to the skies in something a little different to a conventional two-winged plane, then a microlight flying experience could be the thing for them. Microlight flying is freedom at it very best, fly through the clouds and soar into the heavens with hardly anything between you and the ground below! An exhilarating experience; however, you will definitely need a head for heights and nerves of steel! The feeling of adrenaline is enhanced all the more by the small dimensions of the craft and the close proximity of the air and surroundings. Humans may have been created without wings, although this is probably the closest we will ever get to knowing what it would be like to have them!

A microlight aeroplane is a small and lightweight (usually weighting no more than 265kg) aircraft consisting of just two seats. There are two types, one looks a bit like an ordinary small aircraft whereas the other looks more like a hang glider with an open cockpit suspended underneath the wing. Both versions are only capable of travelling at low speeds nonetheless offer a superb flying experience and are a great way to introduce you to flying. This method of flying suits the more laid back type than the adrenaline and thrill seekers of the world.

Incredible easy to manoeuvre, your qualified CAA instructor will handle the take-off and landing procedures leaving you the enjoyment of roaming the open skies and admiring the surroundings as you gently float along at fifty to sixty miles per hour speeds.

As with other UK flying experiences, the time spent in the air can normally count towards a professional licence. The beauty of microlight flying in general as well as the cost of acquiring a licence is that it is usually a lot cheap than a conventional plane or helicopter due to the size of the aircraft.
